Joy, Love, Gratitude -- Master Kuthumi

It is I, Kuthumi who greets you once more on the vibration of love, of Light, of all in creation. There are many levels of creation, some may call them dimensions of creation. I can tell you that the levels of the various dimensions were created to help mankind to ascend. You could think of them as sign posts to show the way to God’s staircase. Each dimension another step toward you becoming all that is.

I have spoken recently of your levels of creation as you enter another year in your time and experience. Some of you understand the power you have always possessed within – the power to create with love – correct love. Correct love. Let me ask you, what is it you consider to be correct love? Do you feel being true to your loved one a correct love? Or taking care of a loved one who is ill, is that correct love? Lovingly polishing your prized vehicle, do you consider this correct love? What do you consider to be correct love?

I can tell you that each of these examples are correct providing you are excreting true love from your heart. That you are also experiencing joy and gratitude for the experience.

If you are looking after another because you feel you have to, or it is your duty, then that is not correct love, no. It is a burden to you. A burden which can easily grow to resentment and anger which will taint your heart and Soul. Over time you will grow bitter, resentful and when you look in the mirror you will wonder how you grew so many lines on your face. How? It was from what you saw as a burden, what you experienced as resentment which grew in your mind until it became dark and consumed your thoughts and days. Your shoulders bent over with the heaviness and your face portrayed it all. Any love was stifled by what you focused on – burdens, anger, resentment.

Correct love is given freely, not from a sense of duty or pressure from another. That is why I gave the example of lovingly caring for a special vehicle, one that is special to you. For in that caring is also gratitude – and this is the key to correct love – gratitude. When there is gratitude, when you can give thanks for someone or something, then you have gratitude. You have brought your love into balance. Gratitude cannot survive in possessiveness. For possessiveness is born of fear. Fear of loss, fear of betrayal, fear you will be hurt and lose what you give your love to. Therefore, there is no gratitude.

Gratitude promotes a freedom, an expansion of love. When you are possessive, the love is smothered and can become a burden to you, a burden of inadequacy of yourself. Deep within you do not love yourself so how can others love you, care for you? You feel you are not worthy. Yet you crave affection. Because you are so focused on receiving affection from another, you will draw a person into your life who is able to give you the affection and love you desire. But your dark thoughts of fear soon turn into possession as your inner fear grows stronger and darker. Your fear becomes the burden.

This is one example which is very large on the emotional body of your planet – fear of giving love – fear of receiving love. This is the one area all must overcome to enable you to climb another step on the Great Staircase. Until you can give and receive love freely, you will not progress forward. This is not a difficult step. Begin to look through the eyes of gratitude instead of wishing and wanting more. First be thankful for what you have. Take time to experience the joy in what you have. It was what you wanted once.

Intent

This will lead you to a correct intent. Your intent as you go through life will be to enjoy all. To take pleasure in all things, no matter how small that pleasure may be.

It is this emotion of pleasure, the intent, the expectation of knowing you can find pleasure within which will bring Universal abundance to you.

The pleasure you find may be the blue sky, a simple flower, a soft blade of grass, or realizing your own worth, your own will to overcome adversity, your healthy working body, or feeling the Light in your Soul. The recognition is the pleasure. The knowing you will find something of pleasure is your intent, your knowing.

Many are experiencing diverse levels of emotional relationship. Some are difficult, even painful. You wonder why this must be so. How you will endure. Difficult situations can be overcome with a correct intent, correct attitude and correct love. Work through these levels to a release of emotion. You can then come to a place of inner peace. First, a correct intent. Your intent is a release of the emotion and the situation. It is important you create a strong intent with no doubt or fear. Be strong in your wish that you will overcome the situation and the attached emotions within yourself. You are not responsible for another. I speak of you only. This first step may require repetition. For example each time you experience inner anger, fear or pain remind yourself of your intent – that you will overcome your emotions and therefore take control of your part in the situation.

Attitude

This creates a correct attitude. You accept that you will overcome and rebalance your inner peace. You will take personal responsibility for your own actions, emotions, words and attitude. In this you connect to your own Soul Power. You may need a correct action in taking personal responsibility. You may need to apologize or to put your view forward. The correct action may be to leave, to walk away. Sometimes you see a different person than you did previously. You may have created a false illusion of a person in your mind. Created them how you wished them to be. When you see the totality of the person there can be disappointment. As you pause and reflect, you will see that this is not how you thought they were. Take personal responsibility that you created a different image of the person. Since it was not correct in it’s totality, how could the other person live up to your image of them? It was your image. Not necessarily the other person’s totality of how they are.

Gratitude

In this understanding there is growth, there is gratitude. Gratitude that you can now see and understand the relationships in a different way, through different eyes.

You are now free to take correct action. To once more pause and decide what you choose to do. With the emotion of gratitude, you also activate your Soul through your Higher Self.

In this way you are able to give correct love. You may choose to walk away, but you are still able to send the other person correct love for their journey. In this you experience the freedom of Soul, of unconditional love.

This is one of the final steps for mankind to complete and to work through. To understand and to practice in your daily levels of life. As you grow stronger in your Soul Power of self, you will see with a new understanding, a new intent and in this there is gratitude – for your journey, and the part others played in awakening you to overcome your inner fears and doubts. It is through these difficult experiences you endure, that your greatest growth can occur. Then you climb another step on the Great Staircase.

The Storm of Duality - Kryon

(36) QUESTION: Dear Kryon: Many cultures and religions have a myth explaining the dark side of the Universe. You told us that there's no evil side, but instead, creations of the Human Being. So would these collective myths be part of our DNA (collective DNA) created by us, as divine beings, to facilitate the duality experience? How can we overcome or change this setup?

ANSWER: Think of it in this way: The setup can't change. It facilitates duality, which is needed for the test. The question should be: "How can we see past the duality and deal with it?" Consider it a staple of your challenge, and instead of trying to void it, contain and conquer it. In this mixture, include fear, for it's the brother of duality.

When you have a storm, you don't try to find out what caused it and eliminate the source, since the source is the system of atmosphere all around you and also sustains you. It's impossible to get rid of the source of storms without destroying the system. Instead, you build lighthouses and ships or buildings that can withstand the force. That's when you're safe, peaceful, and feel you've contained it... when your personal life is no longer affected. The storm rages on, and so will duality. But the lighthouse was built for storms, and feels very calm about the whole life experience.

Pointers - Abraham

Negative emotion always means the same thing. YOU ARE FOCUSED ON SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T MATCH YOUR DESIRE.

Sometimes a person will say, "I am too sensitive." And we say, it's like someone saying, "My hands are really sensitive and it's painful for me to put them on the hot stove." And we say, we don't think sensitivity is your problem (laughter). We think, we think your problem is you've got your hands on the stove (laughter), you see.

And so bless that anxiety. That is sensors. In other words, that's a very good sign. What it's saying is, "DON'T THINK THIS THOUGHT, THIS THOUGHT DOESN'T LINE UP." It's saying, "You would do well to de-activate this thought. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FACE REALITY. Some of reality is painful. DON'T GO TO THE PAINFUL PARTS OF REALITY."

And as you show yourself that you can FEEL GOOD by pointing over there and that you feel bad by pointing over there, and that you CAN point over there. Then more and more, you point over there and anxiety goes away. Just choosing the ones that feel good - instead of accepting anything that anybody wants to dump on you, you see. Yes.

mdce local scheduler

mdce = Matlab distributed computing engine

When you start a matlabpool, it goes to your matlab preferences directory (see "help prefdir") to write job and worker management files to the directory mdce_local_scheduler .

The preference directory is usually of the format ~/.matlab/R2008a

If you are using a matlab engine opened by an apache server (for example in mex compilation) then you have to make sure this preference directory pre-exists and/or is writable by user "apache".

Life and Language in the Amazon Jungle

IN 1980, Daniel Everett, an American missionary and linguist, set off into the heart of the Amazon to track down some of the norld's most elusive words: the language of the Pirahã, a small tribe of Amazonian Indians living on the banks of the Maici River in Brazil.

For the next 20 years Everett, the son of a California cowboy, tried to hack his way through this impenetrable language, coming across verbs that grew into the most contorted shapes, sentences without subordinate clauses and forests of nouns that seemed to change without reason or pattern.

Pirahã, now spoken by fewer than 400 people, is not related to any other known living language, the people who speak it are monolingual, no outsider had ever mastered it before. The language has no simple colour words, no comparatives, no abstract concepts, no stories of the past, nor visions of the future. The Pirahã have no history, no fiction, no creation myth and no folklore. They have no concept of numbers, and no sense of right or left.

Intending to shed the light of Christianity on the tribe by translating the Bible into Pirahã, Everett found himself lost in an alien tongue.

The language has three vowels and eight consonants for men, and the same number of vowels but only seven consonants for women. There is a supply of nouns, but each verb has up to 16 suffixes, which may be present or absent: thus, 2 to the power of 16, making 65,536 possible forms for each and any Pirahã verb. To complicate matters further, there is hum speech, musical speech and whistle speech. Struggling through the linguistic undergrowth was only one challenge, alongside anacondas, tarantulas and river pirates. Everett's wife and daughter caught malaria and almost died. He watched in horror as the Pirahã killed an orphaned baby, on the ground that the child would soon die anyway.

As his command of Pirahã grew, he explored deeper into this linguistic terra incognita. Here was a people so in tune with their surroundings that they had no north or south, no left or right, but merely “upriver” and “downriver”, a direction hard-wired into their speech, like a GPS. They have no need of numbers, and thus no quantifiers - no words meaning all, each or every. For eight months, Everett tried to teach them to count, entirely without success.

Pirahã, he concluded, was predicated on the “immediacy of experience”. The language consisted of questions, declarations, or commands, all directly related to the tribe's visible world. “The Pirahã only make statements that are anchored in the moment,” he writes. “Declarative Pirahã utterances contain only assertions related directly to the moment of speech, either experienced by the speaker or witnessed by someone alive during the lifetime of the speaker.”

This is a language of the here and now. The Pirahã and their language live from day to day. “Pirahãs don't store food, they don't plan more than one day at a time, they don't talk about the distant future or the distant past - they seem to focus on now, on their immediate experience.” Everett's most astonishing find was that the Pirahã lack the grammatical principle of recursion, thoughts collected together in sentences with more than one clause. Noam Chomsky held that recursion is common to all language, and that the ability to use grammar is what sets humanity apart from all other terrestrial life forms. But recursion requires abstraction and generalisation that contravene Everett's “immediacy of experience principle”. “It is not simply that Pirahã accidentally lacks recursion. It doesn't want it; it doesn't allow it because of a cultural principle.”

Like most explorers, and many linguists, Everett is plainly an obsessive. After years of living in the Amazonian jungle, he found himself drawn to the Pirahã way of seeing the world: his marriage and his faith collapsed. “The Pirahãs simply make the immediate their focus of concentration, and thereby, at a single stroke, they eliminate huge sources of worry, fear and despair that plague so many of us in Western societies.”

This is an astonishing book: a work of exploration, into the most distant place and language, but also a revelation of the way language is shaped by thought and circumstance. Everett came to the jungle intending to teach and convert though language, but was con-verted to a new way of thinking.

“Do not sleep there are snakes” is a Pirahã saying. Members of the tribe sleep little, and tend to chat through the night, but the expression is more than just a warning. Everett translates it as “Life is hard, and there is plenty of danger. And it might make us lose some sleep from time to time. But enjoy it. Life goes on.”

The Pirahã live, and speak, for now, and in their strange tongue they have retained something we have lost.
